The forum participants discussed and learned about the most significant and current financial matters in the industry and shared best practices with one another.

The group heard from the staff of Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-Oreg.) and Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.) about their respective tax and workforce initiatives, especially as we prepare for the expiring tax provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2025.

Alicia Manders, of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), also addressed the group and discussed upcoming FASB initiatives, as well as updates about complying with the Inflation Reduction Act.  After the meeting concluded, a number of attendees went to Capitol Hill to meet with the staff from the House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees about AGC’s tax priorities.
