AGC Highlights Work Zone Awareness

AGC addresses the importance of driver awareness near highway work zones amidst an increase in fatalities and injuries.

As a demonstration of AGC of America's participation and leadership in highway construction safety and health, association staff delivered remarks during the National Work Zone Awareness Week Kick Off Event on April 18.

While addressing attendees at the kick-off event on the Lance Corporal Leon Deraps I-70 Bridge near Rocheport, MO, AGC of Missouri President, Len Toenjes, spoke about the importance of driver awareness near highway work zones amidst an increase in fatalities and injuries. Len, along with other speakers at the event, stressed the importance of drivers reducing their speed, putting down their phones, looking out for workers, and giving space to large vehicles in order to reduce unnecessary and avoidable crashes and fatalities.
