Russell Prescott, an AGC member, is running to be the next congressman from New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.
AGC of America is proud to see one of its own members, a former locally elected official, taking a bold step toward higher office by running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. This isn't Russell Prescott's first foray into politics, but it marks a significant new chapter in his public service.
For numerous decades, he played a significant role as co-owner and vice-president of R.E. Prescott Company, a wholesale distributor and manufacturer specializing in water treatment systems and member of the AGC of New Hampshire. In 2020, he became the sole owner and president of the business, which was founded by his father in 1954 and has been based in the same Exeter building since 1963. With a background in professional engineering spanning 30 years, Russell has designed many of the products his company manufactures, earning several patents for water treatment innovations, specifically in arsenic and radon removal.
In addition to his business career, Russell has a strong commitment to community service. He served five terms as a New Hampshire state senator, representing Senate Districts 19 and 23, covering towns from Newmarket to Plaistow and Derry to Seabrook. He continued his public service by being twice elected to the Executive Council in 2016 and 2018. Russell is also actively engaged in community organizations, including the Exeter Rotary Club, Kingston Lions Club, and serving on the board of directors for the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce.
