This week the AGC co-chaired Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) held their legislative fly-in in Washington, D.C.
Members from the 33-member coalition came to town to talk to their legislators about the importance of infrastructure funding. Specifically, the members advocated for increased funding for infrastructure, oversight of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and additional regulatory reform. In addition, members thanked their representatives for completing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization which provides funding for airport taxiway and runway construction.
Attendees of the fly-in also had the opportunity to hear from various leaders in Washington. Specifically, they heard from:
- Charlie Cook, Founder, Cook Political Report;
- Natalie Quillian, White House Deputy Chief of Staff;
- Jonah Shumate, Chief of Staff to Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.); and
- Congressman Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.).
The Ohio Contractors Association (pictured above) took advantage of the AGC Townhouse and held a breakfast where members of Congress from the Ohio delegation were invited to come and speak with AGC members. As a reminder, AGC chapters are welcome and encouraged to utilize the AGC Townhouse when they come to Washington.
