On June 4, AGC joined a broad group of 665 organizations, including AGC chapters and labor unions, on a urging the Senate to repeal the 40 percent “Cadillac Tax” on employer-provided health care coverage whose benefits exceed specific thresholds. The Cadillac Tax was created under the Affordable Care Act as is set to begin in 2022. The tax was initially scheduled to begin in 2018 but has been delayed twice. There is a bipartisan effort to repeal the tax and AGC urges Congress to pass S.684 and H.R.748, the Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Acts of 2019.
