Tell your members of Congress to support common-sense provisions in surface transportation reauthorization.

The U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) recently introduced the INVEST in America Act - legislation to reauthorize federal surface transportation programs.

To ensure the construction industry can continue to build our nation’s infrastructure in an efficient and expedient manner, the T&I Committee must:

1. Remove Restrictions on Expanding Highway Capacity because they will reduce highway construction contracts available to bid; harm smaller or DBE firms that do not have the financial means to adapt their equipment fleets to change from a new road builder to road paving and maintenance contractor; and tie state departments of transportations’ hands when it comes to meeting their states’ transportation needs; and
2. Include the One Federal Decision policy that would accelerate the federal environmental review and permitting process without harming the environment by reducing bureaucratic duplication, setting clear deadlines and holding federal agencies accountable.
