The Associated General Contractors of America Political Action Committee, also known as the AGC PAC, announced today that it has endorsed John James for the United States Senate. AGC PAC officials said they are supporting the James campaign because of his commitment to support the construction industry.
“John James has distinguished himself as a serious leader who will fight unreasonable regulations, support tax reforms, and pursue common-sense health care policies,” said Stephen E. Sandherr, the association’s chief executive officer. “As a combat veteran and businessman, Mr. James has proven that he will stand up and fight for what is right when it comes to protecting our economy, our workers and our country.”
In addition to endorsing John James, AGC PAC has contributed the maximum amount of $10,000 to his campaign. AGC PAC is also encouraging the association’s members in Michigan to help turn out the construction vote in support of his candidacy in the general election on November 3.
“Michigan needs a leader, like John James, to help ensure the U.S. Senate takes essential steps to revive the construction industry and rebuild our economy as we recover from the pandemic,” added Doug Maibach, Chairman of the Board for Barton Malow Enterprises and AGC PAC Trustee. “Key among those steps will be supporting measures to encourage more people to pursue high-paying construction careers, pushing for needed liability reforms and supporting regulatory reforms that will stimulate new economic activity.”
AGC is the association for the commercial construction industry, with nearly 300 member companies in its Michigan chapter, representing general and specialty contractors, service providers, and suppliers. This endorsement comes from AGC PAC, the national association’s political action committee.
