AGC PAC Endorses Kelly Loeffler & David Perdue for U.S. Senate

The Associated General Contractors of America Political Action Committee, also known as the AGC PAC, announced today that it has endorsed David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler for the United States Senate. AGC PAC officials said they are supporting the senators’ campaigns because of their strong pro-construction record and support for the industry.

“Congress needs serious leaders who will work hard to find solutions to our nation’s most pressing issues,” said Stephen E. Sandherr, the association’s chief executive officer. “David Perdue’s and Kelly Loeffler’s experience in the private sector along with their proven track record of fighting unreasonable regulations, supporting much-needed tax reforms, and pursuing common-sense health care policies make them effective and valuable voices for the construction industry in the U.S. Senate. The senators have demonstrated that they will stand up and fight for what is right when it comes to protecting our economy, our workers and our country.”

In addition to endorsing Senators Perdue and Loeffler, AGC PAC contributed the maximum amount of $5,000 to each campaign’s run-off election effort. AGC PAC is also encouraging the association’s members in Georgia to help turn out the construction vote in support of the senators in the election on January 5, 2021.

“Georgia’s construction industry and business community have much at stake in this election. A vote for David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler is the only way to block the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act from becoming law. This misleadingly named bill is an unprecedented attempt to fundamentally change dozens of well-established labor laws to assist organized labor without regard to their detrimental impact on our workers, employers and economy,” said Michael Dunham, chief executive officer of AGC Georgia. He added, “If signed into law, the PRO Act will have a devasting effect on our industry as it would strip our state’s Right-to-Work status and attempt to force workers into joining a union. The senators have the backs of Georgia’s contractors, and deserve our vote.”

AGC is the association for the commercial construction industry, with hundreds of member companies in its AGC Georgia chapter, representing general and specialty contractors, service providers, and suppliers. This endorsement comes from AGC PAC, the national association’s political action committee.
