On March 14, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order (EO) 14236 titled “Additional Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions” that rescinds 18 Biden executive actions—including the following labor-related actions:
- Executive Order 14119– Scaling and Expanding the Use of Registered Apprenticeships in Industries and the Federal Government and Promoting Labor-Management Forums. EO 14119 directed federal agencies to prioritize federal contractors and grantees who participated in registered apprenticeship programs when making award and funding decisions.
- Executive Order 14126– Investing in America and Investing in American Workers (also known as the “Good Jobs EO”) EO 14126 directs federal agencies to prioritize and incentivize companies that adhere to a list of labor standards when awarding federal funds.
- Executive Order 14026– Increasing the Minimum Wage for Federal Contractors. EO 14026 raised the minimum wage for workers on government contracts to $15/hour and indexed it annually to inflation. More information is available here.
- Presidential Memorandum of November 16, 2023– Advancing Worker Empowerment, Rights, and High Labor Standards Globally. This memorandum ordered a wide range of actions aimed at strengthening labor protections.
