On Tuesday, May 14 at 2:00 pm (EDT), AGC of America will be holding the webinar, Legal Liabilities for Utility Excavation Damages. This webinar is Part Two of two-part webinar series, Call Before You Dig.
The webinar will highlight legal liabilities contractors could face if they do not adhere to safe utility excavation practices prior to commencing work. These projects are necessary for the development and construction of utility systems, such as drinking and wastewater pipes, traditional and renewable energy sources, and broadband internet, making safety protocols critical throughout the entirety of the construction process.
Other topics covered in the webinar include what federal laws and regulations contractors could be in violation of if they do not follow safety protocols, what legal liabilities could mean for both firms and individual contractors, and good documentation practices that should be undertaken prior to conducting excavation.
Speakers in this webinar include David Mulligan, Community Liaison Officer, OPS Western Region with the Office of Pipeline Safety (PHMSA) and Brent Hunziker, Vice President of Natural Gas Operations with Whitaker Construction.
Registration is free for both AGC members and non-members thanks to sponsorship of the event from United Rentals. Registration may be found here, while more information on the series may be found here. Upon registration, attendees will also receive a copy of the slides from Part One along with a recording of the event.
