On many issues, if AGC doesn’t do it, it doesn’t get done! This is one of the things I value most about our membership in AGC.

US Senate Arkansas: Sen. Tom Cotton* won renomination in the Republican primary last Tuesday with 82% of the vote. The general election will now feature a contest between Sen. Cotton and Democratic farmer Hallie Shoffner. Sen. Cotton is a prohibitive favorite for re-election. Florida: The University of North Florida conducted a survey of the state’s electorate, testing for the first time appointed Sen. Ashley Moody* (R) and potential Democratic nominee Alexander Vindman, a retired Army Lt. Colonel and ex-National Security Council staff member. According to the study (2/21-3/2; 786 FL likely general election voters; live interview & text), Sen. Moody would lead Mr. Vindman, 45-38%. State Rep. Angie Nixon (D-Jacksonville), also an announced candidate, was similarly tested. In this ballot test, Sen. Moody would lead 46-38%. From the Ballot Box: What Last Tuesday’s Primaries Showed
Voting occurred in the first three primary states last week, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Texas. A number of races were decided last night and several are heading to runoffs. Some primary winners are already preparing for tough general election campaigns, while others are celebrating victories tantamount to winning a November electoral contest. Arkansas Few incumbents were opposed in the Natural State primary. Rep. French Hill (R-Little Rock) was the only federal official who even had minor opposition. Rep. Hill was easily renominated with 77% of the vote. He will face Chris Jones, the 2022 Democratic gubernatorial nominee, in this year’s general election. North Carolina As expected, former Governor Roy Cooper (D) and ex-Republican National Committee chairman Michael Whatley each easily clinched their respective party nominations and will advance to what promises to be one of the premier national US Senate races.
