AGC Talks with White House Officials on Domestic Manufacturing Requirements

The discussion centered on the implementation of changes to “Buy America” and “Buy American” made in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for federally funded and federally assisted infrastructure projects.

On March 14, AGC met with The White House’s Made in America Office. The discussion centered on the implementation of changes to “Buy America” and “Buy American” made in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for federally funded and federally assisted infrastructure projects and there potential impacts on the construction industry. In addition, AGC discussed the recently finalized rule that amends the Buy American Act. The proposed rule increases the domestic content required to 75% in 2029. AGC will continue to advocate for the construction industry to ensure that policy makers are well informed about the uniqueness of construction.
